Survival Manuals collects broad field references that teach a person or small group how to remain alive, mobile, and functional when ordinary services are unavailable. These manuals are broader than any one skill: they connect water, food, shelter, fire, weather, navigation, signaling, first aid, field hygiene, and decision-making under pressure.
The folder belongs in A0 because these are immediate survival capabilities. Military authorship does not automatically make a document A3. A manual belongs here when its useful content can be applied by civilians with limited equipment and without requiring military organization, weapons, or offensive action.
Do not treat a survival manual as a substitute for training. Read the relevant section before an emergency, practice simple procedures, and compare advice against local hazards, current medical guidance, and available equipment.
When using a broad manual, move from the immediate hazard outward:
Look for principles that survive changes in technology: selecting a safe site, keeping dry, conserving body heat, finding and treating water, making fire safely, reading terrain, signaling, managing fatigue, and maintaining a group’s ability to make decisions. Mark advice that assumes military equipment, aircraft, weapons, secure communications, or organized rescue so users do not mistake those assumptions for household requirements.
This folder does not establish medical treatment beyond basic first aid, authorize weapons use, teach offensive operations, or replace local emergency instructions. Military fieldcraft that addresses concealment, surveillance, or operations should be evaluated separately; the A0 collection keeps only the low-resource, defensive, civilian-survival lessons in its fieldcraft pages.
