This folder currently contains a basic hydraulics and components document. That is a seed for a broad A2 topic. Hydraulics is powerful because liquids can move force through confined spaces. It is dangerous because high-pressure fluid leaks can inject into skin, burst hoses can whip, and unsupported hydraulic loads can fall suddenly.
Pressure is force per unit area. Pascal's law explains how pressure in a confined fluid can transmit force through a system.
Flow rate determines speed. In hydraulic machinery, actuator speed depends on how much fluid moves per time.
Valves control direction, pressure, and flow. Pumps create flow; resistance and load create pressure.
Contamination damages systems. Dirt, water, wrong fluid, heat, and wear particles can ruin pumps, valves, seals, and actuators.
Hydraulic drawings and symbols are part of the skill. A mechanic must read the system before safely troubleshooting it.
At A2, hydraulics supports presses, jacks, brakes, lifts, machine tools, pumps, water systems, irrigation, construction equipment, and industrial repair. Simpler water flow ideas also support A1 ditches, water wheels, and hand pumps.
This folder is A2 because fluid-power systems require trained maintenance, seals, fittings, pressure ratings, clean fluid, and safety procedures. A3 water-control hydraulics scales the same physics up into public works and civil engineering.
