Its documents now include a locally constructible slide rule, a public-domain textbook on bookkeeping and farm accounts, and modern printable USDA forms for activity logs, field history, planting, harvest, materials, storage, inventory, cleaning, and sales. Together they connect calculation, consistent notation, and durable paper records.
Recordkeeping is the companion skill. A calculation helps now; a record helps later. Logs and ledgers let people see patterns, check promises, repair mistakes, and teach the next person.
Arithmetic supports practical decisions: how much, how many, how far, how long, what ratio, and what remains.
A slide rule is an analog calculating tool based on logarithmic scales. It is fast for multiplication and division but depends on estimation and place-value judgment.
Records must be clear enough for another person to use. Dates, units, names, quantities, sources, and changes should be written consistently.
